FAQs

Do you offer any trial lessons or introductory sessions for parents to understand the teaching approach and assess the school's suitability for their child?

Yes, we do provide one free trial lesson followed by a 3-week money-back guarantee to ensure that the students are not only connecting with our teaching methodology but are most importantly enjoying the lessons as well.

Why are you offering the money-back guarantee?

Yes, we know it’s unusual for a music school. But should there be a match between a student’s goal and our teaching methodology, then this policy is simply in place because we believe in the value we will create for you and your child. Furthermore, as the school currently intends to only hold onto a low number of students per term (max. 10 students), this policy will also help both students and teacher ensure that there is a compatibility before committing to a long-term arrangement. This will allow the school to ensure that we give each student the fullest dedication and attention that are expected of us.

Where are you based?

Currently, we are running our lessons in 16 Brunswick Parade, Ashfield NSW 2131.

How long is each lesson?

Each lesson is around 50 to 60 minutes depending on the students’ level of focus on the day.

Why do you have a 2-session per week policy?

Our preference for 2 session/week is just a reflection of our emphasis on the importance of reinforcement and consolidation. Based on our experience in the music education industry, we find that this frequency is ideal for serious students of the piano who want a dependable way of measuring progress. Although not mandatory, places will be reserved firstly for students/parents with the capacity for this commitment as it is aligned with our teaching methodology.

Do you also teach adult students?

Our programs are mainly catered towards children and teenagers. Therefore, that will largely be our focus. Adult students compatibility with our program will have to be considered on a case-by-case basis. Please get in contact us with us to discuss.

How do you handle student absences and make-up lessons?

Students are required to provide at least 24 hours' notice should they be unable to attend a lesson.

  • The absence of notice within a 24 hour period will result in forfeiture of the lesson.

  • Where a 24-hour notice is provided, students will be able to organise make-up lessons (up to 3 make-up lessons).

  • Each make-up lesson must be organised within 12 weeks of the absence or it will be forfeited.

  • Students may request 3 lessons per term be rescheduled. Any further cancellations beyond this even with 24 hours-notice are considered forfeited.

When are the make-up lessons held?

  • Make-up lessons are usually held during the school holidays.

  • Make-up lessons can be organised during the school term if there are any available time slots (where other students are absent).

If me or my child are unable make it to the rest of the term, what is the refund policy you have in place?

After the initial free trial lesson and money-back guarantee, all lessons are paid up-front prior to the start of the term as students secure a spot for the term.

  • Unfortunately, we do not offer a refund after the initial free trial lesson and money-back guarantee.

  • Students are always entitled to 3 make-up lessons per term. If you are unable to make it to the rest of the school term, you are more than welcome to take up the make-up lessons during the school holidays.
